Linda Market or Landa Bazar

British have left their legacy in Pakistan, one of them being Linda Bazaar, now known by Pakistanis as Landa Bazaar.

Linda, a kind-hearted British woman, started this project as a Charity for poor people. After watching the deprived and underprivileged people around her, she requested her friends for donations and the place for their distribution was named after Linda as “Linda Market”. In the beginning the Linda Bazaar mainly included articles like clothes and shoes.

Nowadays in Pakistan Landa bazaar is very famous for the second hand articles on cheap prices, which fulfill the needs of many poor and deprived people. Most of the people are unaware of the historical background of Landa Bazaar as being a charitable project, which has now converted into a business by Landa Bazaar stall-keepers.
